Beauty Favorites- June
Updated: Jul 14, 2021
Welcome to my very first monthly favorites post. I can't promise that this will be a consistent monthly occurrence, but when I have some favorite products to talk about, you will be the first to know. As pandemic life starts to ease its way towards the end, work and life have picked up a ton. I have been working way more consistently doing makeup and hair for a variety of clients, and even picking up a brush and wearing a little more makeup on myself. With the being said, I have a few products that I have been gravitating towards and consistently using because I am in love with them. I am constantly going through phases where I have a favorite makeup product or brush and I use it for everything and on everyone. We are going to be talking about a variety of products ranging from skincare to makeup to hair care. Go ahead and grab your phone or a pen and paper, you are going to want to take note of some or all of these products. Keep on scrolling to find out what my monthly favorites are.

This is one of my absolute favorite eyeshadows palettes that I currently have in my kit. I have been using it on everyone, especially my bridal clientele. 4 Way Everyday is your ultimate neutrals palette to create simple shadow looks or elevated dramatic looks. The shades in this palette include two warm tones browns with a glittery deep champagne shade and a satin finish cream shade. I am in love with the formulation of these shadows, they are smooth, blend easily and have incredible pigmentation. If you are in need of a good staple eyeshadow palette, I cannot recommend this one enough. You can purchase this palette on the Haus Labs website and Amazon.
I have recently revisited the NYX Jumbo eye pencil and this was an old favorite that I have somehow forgotten about. These pencils are great to apply all over the lid and wear on their own or to use as a shadow base. I recently picked up three shades from Target, Frosting, Ice Mocha, and Cashmere. I started to incorporate this product into my more natural makeup applications and they look great on clients and photograph nicely. They have a creamy, sheer application but, can also be easily built up. They blend nicely with the warmth of your fingertip or you can even use a synthetic brush to blend. You can also sharpen these pencils, making them easy to clean and sanitize in between clients. I am so glad I decided to revisit this product because it is now a staple in my pro kit. You can pick this eye pencil up from Ulta, Target, and most drug stores.
It is no secret that I love Glossier, I think it may currently be one of my favorite brands at the moment. We all have heard and know about cloud paint and yes, we are going to be talking about it here again. I am in love with this product, I have almost every shade in my pro kit. My most used shade is Storm, but all the shades I have are beautiful and look amazing on a variety of skin tones. I am big on layering my products during makeup application. Sometimes I will use cloud paint on its own, and sometimes I will layer a powder blush on top. I also use this product as a lip tint, if I want a more natural lip color on my clients. You can even use this product on the eyelids to create a monochromatic look. Overall this product is amazing and one of my favorite blushes to use. It's versatile and can be applied as a sheer tint of color or easily built up for more intensity. This is a product I grab for every makeup application, it is a must. Don't walk to this product... RUN!
Speaking of powder blush, here is one I am obsessed with. The Kevyn Aucoin Neo Blush is a gradient blush, meaning there are about three different shades in one pan. You can dip your brush in and mix them all together or focus on one area of the pan depending on the coloring you want to apply. This is a product I always grab in my kit to layer on top of a cream product and they are also great to use on their own. All the shades are richly pigmented and give a beautiful luminous glow to the skin without looking powdery. I have an artist I work with give me this product and I will forever appreciate it because I use these on almost every makeup application.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to wear sunscreen, especially on your face. It can be very challenging to find a sunscreen that doesn't break you out and leave a white cast. Supergoop! is hands down one of my favorite sunscreen brands. It is a little more expensive, but this is one of those products where it is worth it to invest the extra money. I have only tried the unseen sunscreen formula, but I really like it. It's lightweight and goes on completely clear without leaving any residue on the skin. It is oil-free which helps a ton to prevent breakouts while wearing this product. It is perfect for underneath your makeup and protects the skin against the sun extremely well. You can purchase this product at Sephora, Blue Mercury, the Supergoop website, and some department stores. There is no excuse to not wear sunscreen, go pick up this product and protect your skin.
I wanted to also include a second sunscreen because sunscreen is super important! A makeup artist posted this online and claimed it was a dupe for the Shiseido sunscreen stick so I had to give it a try. I never tried the Shiseido sunscreen stick, but who doesn't love a drug store dupe? I have been using this sunscreen for the past couple of weeks during outdoor workouts and so far so good. It is super easy to apply and does not leave any residue or white cast on the skin. It is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes, perfect for outdoor activities or pool days. This is an amazing option if you are looking for a more affordable sunscreen. This Neutrogena sunscreen is $9.99 and can be purchased at Target, Amazon, and most drugstores.
This product has quickly become my essential for a nice blowout. This thickening spray adds volume and control to the hair. Spray directly in your and roots and throughout the rest of the mid-length and ends, then brush it through. Proceed with your styling routine as normal but if you want max volume use a round brush while drying or even throw in some velcro rollers. I have been using this product a ton paired with my Kenra blow dry spray. It gives volume and control to the hair without making it feel too soft, which is helpful to make sure your style does not fall right out.
I think every haircare collection needs a hair oil of some sort. One of my personal favorites is Two Way Mirror by R&Co. A hair oil is perfect to polish up the ends of the hair after a blowout, and to add extra smoothness and shine to the hair. I also love to use hair oil to refresh and rehydrate the ends throughout the week in between washes. I am someone who washes their hair about once a week so I go through a ton of dry shampoo. I notice when repeatedly using dry shampoo that the ends of my hair start to dry out. When I see that happening I like to grab a hair oil and run that through my mid-length and ends to keep things looking hydrated and healthy. This product is perfect for that. It is also extremely lightweight, your hair will absorb it right away and there will be no greasy feeling as long as you do not overdo it.
